Hi,
Can anyone shade any light on this family prior to 1891?
Annie Elizabeth Harling married Edward Huntley in Middlesbrough during the December quarter of 1888.
The 1891 census finds Edward and Annie with her father, Thomas Harling (born c1824 in Middlesbrough), his wife, Polly, born c 1853, and Annie's siblings, Sarah, Margaret, Tom, John H, and Edith, (all born in Middlesbrough).
However, by 1901, Margaret, Tom, John and Edith appear to be living in Sunderland with their step father, John George Walker and their mother 'Mary' who had also been born in Sunderland.
John George Walker did marry a Mary Harling in Sunderland during the September quarter of 1894 - but couldn't have been 'Polly'.
it would seem though, that Thomas Harling did die in Middlesbrough during the March quarter of 1892.
However, where was Annie Elizabeth Harling in 1881 - indeed where were they all? Who was Thomas and who was Polly?
Can anybody locate them family at all prior to 1891?
Thanks
Sue
