1861 Census - WRIGHT
« on: Sunday 19 June 05 01:39 BST (UK) »
I am looking for 1861 census information on William WRIGHT and his wife Caroline WRIGHT (formerly BELLSON) .  I have the birth certificate of their son William Richard WRIGHT who was born on December 18, 1861 at 6 John Street, Greenwich, Kent.  According to the birth certificate William WRIGHT Sr was a waiter.

I couldn't find them at that address in 1861 and am wondering if someone could offer any advice.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Dot.

Hi Dot

Do you have this family in any later census?  If so, could you please post the full details ie. names/ages/birthplaces.

Best wishes

Sorry can find nothing more on family until the 1891 census:
William R. WRIGHT, (30) warehouseman, from Greenwich, Kent;  his wife Martha (nee PRITCHARD), (30) Westminster; daughter Martha 8, Islington.  In 1891 they were living at 53 Frederick Street Islington.

Do not know if William Richard Wright had any siblings...do not know where his parents were from.  In a quandry.

Many thanks.
Dot.

Do you have year of birth for Caroline? Perhaps from marriage cert?

There are quite a few in London and they aren't necessarily going to be in Greenwich.
