Will of Colonel Thomas Cooper Eviertt, Esq. - dated 1815. (COMPLETED)
« on: Friday 20 December 13 21:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi guys, I'm unable to read the will. Can someone please decipher it for me. It's reasonably short, only a page or so.

I've attached his will.

Cheers,

He must have had at least one debt. As he failed to appoint an executor, the will could not go to probate. His widow and children, as residuary legatees, could have applied to administer the estate, but they apparently declined. So Robert Boyes, as a proven creditor, would have been in line to apply, and probably saw it as an opportunity to get his money back.

As regards the usefulness of the will, I guess it depends how much you already know about the family and what you were hoping to find out.  :)
