Surname GRAY
« on: Sunday 19 June 05 19:20 BST (UK) »
I wonderd if anyone could help me with the surname Gray.
Her name is Sarah she was born {i think} in Antrim,i dont know who her parents were.Sarah married Joseph Bell,no info on him either.I dont know what year Joseph and Sarah married but their 1st child Sarah was born in Ireland in 1821 and she married William Edgar also irish.William and Sarah left for Scotland where their 1st child Jane was born 1843 in Maybole Ayrshire.
I have the 1851 census for William and Sarah Bell for Maybole but i looked for deaths for Sarahs parents Joseph Bell and Sarah Gray on Scotlands People but there was nothing so i am presuming that they remained in Ireland and died there.Any info on Sarah and her parents would be very much appreciated.Anne.

Hiya Saz,

I'm sure VRI is a great site for checking for surnames and the like ... what is VRI please ???

There's no need to reply Saz. I've searched for the meaning of VRI.

The Vital Records Index is NOT a complete collection of births, christenings, and marriages. Not all localities are represented, and coverage for any given area may not be complete. It DOES NOT contain any death references.

It's much the same as everything else that searchers use ... there's loads of information not available.

Chris
