Hi folks  :)

I am seeking advice/help on how to trace a family member.  She will have passed away now, but what I'm not sure of is if she had any children.  If she did I would like to get in touch with them.

She - Mary Kerr - lived at 27 Ashburton Road, Blackpool.  Her husband Farquhar MacRae died in 1966 leaving her a widow.  A year later she remarried: a man called Charles Moore - both of whom on the marriage cert. were living at 27 Ashburton Rd.  I have been unable to find a death certificate for her (she was born about 1900)

I haven't done a lot of research into English records before so I am unsure where to go from here.  What I had thought of as a possible lead would be valuation rolls or the English equivalent?  But I don't know if she owned the house or just rented it.   ???

Any advice/assistance gratefully received.

Hi their are these death possibles:-

Mary Moore born 26th November 1903 death Sept 1988 Blackpool & Fylde v40 page 360 aged 84
Mary Moore born 27th September 1897 death June 1971 Blackpool v10b page 275 aged 73

Was Farquar married to Olive Dunn,
it seems an unusual name,

If Mary was about the same age as Farquhar then I doubt she would be having children with Moore
from 1967.

The 2005 electoral rolls for the UK show 13 Farquhar Macrae but all are over the border in Scotland.

Thank you all for your contributions, much appreciated.

Saddles - apologies, I neglected to mention the Mary had been married before she married Mr MacRae...it is the first marriage I am not sure if there was children from.

I will look in to the Olive Dunn marriage - thanks Radcliff.  I have a feeling Farquhar may have been Edinburgh-based around that time, but he was with the army so he could easy be moving around with work.

Thank you for the death cert suggestions keyboard86 - can you tell me is there any way for me to investigate them other than writing to the specific registrar offices?  As I say I'm fairly confident with Scottish research, but in the dark a little with how it works in the rest of the UK.
