Westerham parish records - CHAPMAN
« on: Monday 13 January 14 10:35 GMT (UK) »
Would be grateful for a look up in Westerham for the Chapman family.   I have a baptism for James in 1808 son of William and Ann.   Are there any siblings?  Is there a marriage of William and Ann?
Unfortunately it seems that William died before 1851 census so have no place of birth for him.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks  Wilma

Hi

1841 census William, Ann and daughter Esther are together in Westerham. In 1851 Ann and Esther are still together with a Joseph Collins, who is described as Ann's brother. Can't find a marriage myself but it could be you are looking for a marriage of an Ann Collins and William Chapman

Many thanks.   I did have the census details and found the marriage in Sevenoaks 1794.   Also found 4 children born to a William and Ann Chapman in Bromley between 1795 and 1802 which would seem to be the first part of this family.   Will have to look into this further.

Thanks again   Wilma

Hi

Quickly found that the Bromley family belonged to a William Chapman and Ann Brewer who were married same year as William and Ann Collins!   Back to the drawing board

According to Phillimore, there was a marriage in Westerham on 28 December 1802 between William Chapman and Anne Collins both of the Parish.

Hope this helps.  ???

Happy New Year,
Tony :)
