William Gowland/Goulden - late 1700s Snaith/Cowick/Howden
« on: Monday 20 January 14 03:22 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to find out any information I can about William GOWLAND or GOULDEN who married Elizabeth Dimaline 29 Dec 1791, in St. Lawrence Priory Church, Snaith.  He was possibly a staymaker, who became a shoemaker.  He was in Cowick in 1791, as their oldest child (also called William) was born there, but their next child John was born in Howden in 1795, so he and Elizabeth seem to have moved there in between.  (Elizabeth was born around 1768)

I have no information on his dates of birth/baptism or death/burial.

I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas/hints etc, that would be great.  Thank you in advance.

Victoria

Cannot help with Elizabeth but just checked through Arksey Parish Register and found the Banns Published for a Richard Dimmerline of this Parish bachelor & Mary Ann Burton Parish of Barnby Upon Dunn Banns March 18th, 25th & April 1st 1798.
This is the only record in Arksey Parish for this name.

Hi gogogadgetlegs,

Thank you for looking for this information and sending it on to me.  I will see how that fits in with other information about the Dimalines.

Thanks again,
Victoria
