Quite a few City Directory entries but the latest one so far was - Cranston, Rhode Island, City Directory, 1954 - Alfred W Macklin ( also Lavinia M Macklin ) - 61 Concord Avenue - Jeweller.

Sandra

Added :- Cranston Rhode Island  Directory 1956 only Lavina listed - anc tree lists died 30 October 1958.

Good morning Sandra
Many thanks for the info you sent, I sent off an email to Cranston Library over the weekend and will await any reply if not successful there will try Providence Library, it was a toss up which one.  Now knowing the business he had is good too. The Macklin name is my in laws side of the tree and I had 'done' all the history of the 2 brothers arriving in Australia and always wondered what the remaining family got up to, so I set out early Dec to find them and have done so.  As Alfred and Levinia did not have any children, that branch has stopped there, sadly, however, I have now found another Alfred in South Africa with a daughter who died in 2012 in Edmonton, so now on to the chase for her descendants!  So you have given me some great information.
If there is an obit it may tell me where he is buried, it is always good to 'finish' them off!
Thank you again, Maxine  Any time you want help with Aussie stuff email me (*)

Good morning over there,
Sorry to be a pain but how can I find out about the deaths of Jane Macklin (wife of William- he died 20 July 1920 - found that), and both Alfred William and Levinia Macklin??  I have been all over the place looking for them but to no avail.
Jane's date of death  ?
Alfred was there in 1942 (draft)
Levinia ????
I've emailed Providence ask a librarian only yesterday so will have to await an answer there but I did wonder how you folk check out these records.
