Hi,
Can anyone tell me if Dykelands Cottages in the Marykirk area stiil exist.  My mother was born there in 1936.  Her parents were Thomas and Sarah Welsh.  She had a brother called Terry born in 1939.  (All are deceased ).  Does anyone know or remember them.

Hi , Which Marykirk do you mean ?   The one outside Montrose , Angus , or the one in Aberdeenshire ?
Caskie / Caskey in Ireland
Allan in Ayrshire , Scotland
Gowans in Fife , Scotland
Ross in Morayshire , Scotland

My mothers birth cert says Kincardine.  At Luthermuir on Oct 27th 1936, signed Mary Ann Wishart.

Thank you Monica...been a very turbulent 2 years... have moved to Tullibody as my daughter is at uni and she now has a wee boy, so really moved to help support them and have now got a permanent job starting in 2 weeks or so.... so heres hoping I will have some time and spare cash to continue my journey...but really missed all this...much better than facebook...lol

ohhhhh i am, but he is my third grandson....the oldest is 20 this year....six months younger than my daughter....oooooops....lol ;D

Hi

Yes, Dykelands Cottages still exist.  Search for "Cushnie Farming Co" on Google maps, satellite option.  Cushnie/the Milne family own Dykelands Farm which is on the A937 and Dykelands Cottages are on the other side of the road.  The A937 runs between Marykirk and Laurencekirk.
