Death & Burial
« on: Sunday 26 January 14 12:35 GMT (UK) »
I quite frequently find records of death & burial dates which are identical. Is this realistic or is it more likely that an error has been made by someone?
Toby.

Quite possible for example cholera burials had to be within 24 hours often this required the grave diggers to work all night.

I have recently come across a similar issue with death and burial dates being the same. Both my 3 x great grandparents had their death dates the same as their burial dates. They were both buried at the same cemetery in Cerrigydrudion in North Wales. My 3 x great grandfather died in 1840 of a liver complaint and my 3 x great grandmother died in 1844 of cramps. I am not sure if these causes of death are related to cholera.
