I have a copy of a short memoir of a cousin (Thomas Quirke) that was written in the late 1890's and in it, Thomas wrote that his grandfather James Quirke (my 4x great grandfather) 'acted as agent for the landlord named Millet who resided at St John’s town". Thomas also wrote that James and his wife Ally, resided at Mount Nugent House shortly after their marriage in 1797.
Thomas Quirke being the nephew of my 3x Great Grandfather, John
What would the 'agent' be responsible for? I know from the Griffith's Valuations, 3 of James's sons are listed as tenants to James Millet at Mount Nugent.
