oversea births registers

Hi

Can anyone advise me where to find details of births in Malaysia to British forces personnel, I am trying to check if the birth of a child recorded on Find my past is an offspring of one of my ancestors Brian T Howson who was married to Margaret Olive Harley in Scarborough in 1955. I have input these details in Find my past and there is a birth comes up in Limbang Malaysia and as we cannot trace any other children to them are looking at the possibility that they had children abroad.

To get further information, you can make an application to the General Register Office at Southport (www.gro.gov.uk) for a copy of the birth certificate which will cost £9.25. The image at FindMyPast has all the information you need for the application.
