leicester 1841 census CUTTS
« on: Tuesday 21 June 05 14:26 BST (UK) »
Wonder if anyone could help? I'm trying to trace my CUTTS relatives from Leicester. I found a MATTHEW CUTTS marrying ELIZABETH SMITH in 1838 in St Mary Leicester. He was living Applegate Street, she was living 'Friars' (don't know if that means Friars Street. Matthew as a mechanic; his father John was also a mechanic. Elizabeth's father John Smith was a malster. Matthew and Elizabeth are both shown as 21.

Trouble is, although the age fits in with my Cutts family,I can't find a mechanic John mentioned. If anyone could find Matthew and father JOhn in the 1841 census I may get a few more clues.

I'd be very grateful for any help or suggestions. Thank you.
