Searching for a Will for John Taylor buried Dec 1695 Holm Cultram
« on: Wednesday 26 February 14 06:45 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,
I am searching to see if there might be a will for John Taylor, Cowper, buried Dec 1695 Holm Cultram and also a John Taylor, Cowper buried 5 Mar 1704 Holm Cultram.
There is a baptsm for a George Taylor 1675 Holm Cultram with a father John. Perhaps a will might tell which John Taylor is his father. I am also interested to find if this George Taylor might have gone to Northern Ireland.
I understand that wills from different localities and different periods are held in different places.
Could anyone help me with this ?

Hi Rob,
I have lodged a request for a search at Carlise records office and was informed that there would be a 3 to 5 weeks delay in a reply. Am now into the 4th week so am anxiously waiting to hear from them.
What is the online cascat catalogue that you mention.?

Hi Rob,
Thank you, I will have to see what I can find.
I am afraid that I am a novice in this. I did find a large catalogue that was attatched to the Kendal records but I can see yhat I will have to explore further.
