Would be grateful if someone could help as follows:

Looking for parish register look ups for the 2 above people please.  Info as follows:

Married on 6.10.1890 at the Norwich Registry Office:  (have marriage certificate)
Arthur Gooch, dob: 1862 - Norwich St James.
Alice Eleanor Beckett dob: 1867 - ? Shottesham, Norfolk.
Fathers details for both people left blank.



Would like to find out who were their parents.

Also if possible lookup for Alice Eleanor Beckett, dob 1887 - ? Shottesham, Norfolk, daughter of Alice Eleanor Beckett.  Also cannot find any info regarding father.

Hi Down-under, many thanks for your quick reply -  do not have her birth certificate, but believe she was born on 6.12.1887, as she was baptised  on 9.10.1890 with her sister charlotte (b.14.9.1890) at St John The Baptist Church, Timberhill.  Cheers.

Hi Judi2632 - Many thanks - I have the above info, only recently found - due to the transcription error!!  Have found  on the 1891 census, Arthur, Alice and her daughter Alice.

Maybe young Alice was Arthurs he calls her his daughter on censuses

Hi Pam

Have looked at this family previously, can't remember but think I discounted them as I believe Alice E their daughter had a middle name of elizabeth and my Alice Beckett would have only been 4 in 1871 census.  Also Alice Eleanor Beckett (dob 1867) was born in  Norwich district and not Great Yarmouth.

Will have to recheck!


Wondering why Alice Eleanor Beckett's (dob 1887) mother did not register her as Gooch and instead kept her  name as Beckett in some of the census's?
