I assume that Mr Devereux was a Manufacturer of hats

What a family that Irene's got mixed up in - I thought some of mine took the biscuit at times but................

I am glad they are not mine Gadget. 

Alfred George Devereux died in 1884 in Luton.

Henry was in the 1891 census as Edwards.

Luton was known for their Straw Hat-Boaters.

Here are Alfred G Devereux burial details.

Billing Road Cemetery
Alfred George Devereux, aged 63, of 4, Connaught Street died 25th Mar 1941
buried on the 29th in grave A2/1580

Most of this area was hit by a bomb in the 2nd World War.

buried on the 9th in grave A2/1580

I'm sure I found a probate record for Alfred (died 1941) when I was playing with the new search facilities - it came up straight away    I think the probate registry was Oxford.  Will go back and find it to see who the executor was.
