Ellen Ainsworth
« on: Tuesday 04 March 14 14:27 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I'm having trouble finding a death for Ellen Blackwell (nee Ainsworth). She was born abt 1833 in Hoghton Lancashire, married Joseph Blackwell in 1859 (Brindle nr Chorley). I have her in all censuses upto 1911 where she was lodging with her brother , William. I cannot find anything after that. If anybody has any info which would help me locate her death and place of death, I would be very appreciative.

Thanks Carol  :)

Hi Victor,

Thankyou, I saw that death but not 100% certain on it, I think I will have to obtain the death certificate to make sure. There is no link that area for her. I will let you know the outcome.
Thanks Again
Carol

I've found a few of my husband's ancestors dying in Blackpool although they were originally from other parts of Lancashire.  I wonder if it was a place to retire to in those days, rather like in the 1960s/70s many people from Lancashire and Cheshire used to retire to N.Wales.

My mum came from Macclesfield (East Cheshire) and in the 30's and 40's their annual holidays were always taken in Blackpool. I expect some retired there too!

Did she have any other Ainsworth family living in Wrea Green  :-\

Have you looked at the area in 1911  ;)
