Newbie needs help!
« on: Tuesday 04 March 14 20:14 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I've only been researching a few weeks but I am involved with a local project researching my towns memorials for a Roll of Honour.
I have literally found everything out about my first soldier(Lance Corporal Jesse Eyre Green) but I'm stuck!

I have to find out if his brothers fought in the war(ww1) but due to the majority of the service records being destroyed I am stuck to think of another way to find this out! I also need their D.O.D! Struggling because on some census' they family is marked as just surname Green (not including Eyre)

His brothers:
Job Eyre Green b.1869
William Eyre Green b.1871
Thomas Eyre Green b.1876
George Eyre Green b.1884
Alfred Eyre Green b.1889
Frederick E Green b.1890
Edward Eyre Green b.1891

Any help would be appriciated thank you!

From Probate indexes

George Eyre Green of 7 Thornley Ave Dodsworth died 11 Jan 1949 at Church Lane Colliery Dodsworth . Administration to Emma Matilda Green widow

And

Alfred Eyre Green of 31 Myrtle Street Barnsley died 28 May 1963 Probate to Dorothy May Parkinson married woman

Freebmd gives the ages at death as  74 for Alfred, so that looks like your man.
Havent found George in the death index to confirm
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

birth   june 1869  Green Job Richard E     Barnsley  9c 115
death dec 1938 aged 69 Green Job R E    Huddersfield 9a 363
this looks like Job survived the 1st World War ?

age fits exactly - but it just states E E Green ?? the only one possible in CWGC site

wife of Nellie Florrie Green ...you need to find the marriage to see what E E Green stood for
