Welcome to rootschat. I'm afraid we are not allowed to mention names of anyone still living, so it will be difficult for anyone to help you. After you have made three posts, the Personal Messaging system will be activated so you will be able to correspond via PM with anyone who can offer help.

You give no indication whereabouts in the world you are, or his approximate year of birth. Have you tried all the usual routes like facebook and simply googling his name? Genes Reunited might be worth investigating.

You aren't allowed to mention his name but if he was born in the UK, send me a PM after your third post and I will try to find his year of birth via an online search.

Just reply to this a couple of times and I will send you a PM to get more details.

Ah OK I see. That might complicate matters.

How do you know he changed his surname a few years ago? How long ago did you lose contact with him?

Do you know anyone who knows him, and may know what his new surname is?

From your original question I assumed that you knew nothing about him since his birth.

That is a shame - especially if your Dad may know what his new surname is.  :-\ Do you have any Aunts or Uncles you could contact if you no longer speak to your parents?

I'm not sure I can help you - as I thought you were searching for his birth date and did not know the time frames involved were so recent.

Electoral rolls?  :-\

Though if you don't know his surname I have no idea where you would even begin to look for him .... hopefully someone with some good ideas will be along soon to help you.

In the meantime I will send you a PM.
