Anyone researching the Garrow family of Newington in the 19th century?
« on: Saturday 08 March 14 20:07 GMT (UK) »
In particular, the children of PC Andrew Garrow and his wife Margaret Maitland?

His son Thomson Garrow was married to one Elizabeth Thomson (1858-97), who is a relative of mine. Any leads on this family, and on the children of Tom and Elizabeth, gratefully received

Thanks. Elizabeth Thomson/Garrow was born in Chatham, Kent, where her father was working as a ship's cabinetmaker.

There are eight Garrow children listen on Scotlandspeople as born between 1877 and 1897, so I can now say with certainty that at least three of them are cousins of my great-grandfather. From the years of their birth, it is possible that all eight are in the same family, so a trip to Register House is now required...
