I am assisting an elderly friend with her ancestry. 

The shipping and immigration records for the HAYES family arrival in South Australia in 1849 simply states their place of origin as Co Galway.

An obituary of their eldest son in 1918 states he was born Durryvullen, Co Galway.

I can't find a parish or townland with that name in Galway but there is a parish of Durryvullen in Co Fermanagh.

Possible the name Durryvullen has been mispelt  :-\

I would appreciate some help with the name.  :)

Further to my post......Google shows it as 'Derryvunlam' and my Ireland electoral rolls (2005) show
the HAYES surname at various addresses in the area.
Townson - Cartmel                      O'Malley - Askeaton, Ireland

Thanks Saddles.  I think my friend will be more than happy with having the Townland, Parish etc. and I found the Poor Union as well.
