Staffordshire Marriage
« on: Wednesday 09 April 14 13:43 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find the marriage of a Mary Ann Brown (sorry about the common surname), her parents are Robert Brown and Mary Fereday,  Mary Ann was b 1834 in Tipton, Staffs, i have found her siblings marriages but i have hit a wall with her,
her siblings are ( if it helps )
Hannah Maria b 1837
Elizabeth b 1840
Jane b 1842
James b 1844

When does she stop appearing in censuses as unmarried? That might help narrow down your search.
Does she witness any of her siblings marriages? Again, if still Brown you know she is still single. If there is a witness as Mary Ann something else,it might be her, married.
Did either of her parents leave a Will? They can be wonderful sources for finding married names of daughters.

Does she just go missing?  She may have died and/or not got married at all  :)

I can see her age 17 with family in 1851.  There are 9 or 10 deaths between then and 1861 in the right district  :-\

Looks like mother is widowed by 1861 but the 4 other children are with her.  No Mary Ann.

Any or none of them may her.
You can start possibly narrowing them down by seeing if you can find any of them on subsequent censuses. If you can and the age is totally wrong, then you can rule that marriage out.
Any you are left with remain possibilities. It will then be a case of getting certs or finding the relevant parish register to see if any of the brides have father called Robert.

Not going to be quick or easy, and may not result in anything conclusive.

But unless you can  find her married name (assuming she did marry) from another source as I suggested in my previous post , then with a name like Mary AnnBrown, tbere will be no short cut.
