Anticedents to Samuel Fowler and Lucy Isabella Lansdown 1863 Bristol
« on: Thursday 10 April 14 06:02 BST (UK) »
Samuel Fowler and Lucy Isabella Lansdown were my Grandmother's (Edith HL Fowler) parents. I have been unable to get any further back than them.I know they were from Bristol. Any help would be fantastic. My Grandfather was Jack Alfred George (1906 - 1966). His father was Alfred George, b 1861, married to Elizabeth Lydia Steadman b 1860. I have made no headway on the George side so any help there would be appreciated also.  :-\ ayteeo, Vancouver BC.

This looks like Isabella and her parents and sibling - on the Family Search site in 1871 on the link below living at Richmond Terrace, Bedminster.    Matthias was a Packer at a Paper Bag Factory

Edit - There are a number of records for Matthias on Family Search including his marriage

Based on Samuel Fowler's father being listed as Henry at the time of his marriage this looks like a possible family in 1871 on the link below.  They were living in Bedminster and Henry was a grocer's porter

Matthias was a Packer at a Paper Bag Factory

That would be at E.S. & A. Robinson!
(see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._S._%26_A._Robinson)
I used to work for the parent company, and lived in Bedminster!

According to a tree online, Alfred George and Elizabeth Lydia Steadman were married at Fulham Register Office.
Which means that you can only see details by buying the marriage certificate?!

Also they were both born c1881.

Alfred's family in 1901?

Many thanks for the responses. I haven't had a chance to analyze thoroughly yet but I can see I'm further ahead than I was. ayteeo.
