Further to the above I now have a little more on the Jewsons flight to the USA.
Grub found a second Jewson family headed by Elizabeth but her husband is not shown. His name was Jarvis Jewson and he is shown in Wisconsin in the 1860 census. He was born abt 1823
Can anyone find which ship and when he travelled, please ?

Also I asked about a Fisher Jewson, brother to Jarvis.
He left earlier. I have found that he married in New York State in 1852 so had to have left before that. He married a Phoebe Stevens, also from Norfolk, so, maybe they travelled out together.
Fisher was born in 1828 and Phoebe in 1834

Any further information would be appreciated

hello

you may not be looking for this but just in case

Record Type: Marriage
Name: Jacob Alexander
Spouse's Name: Elizabeth Jewson
Marriage Date: 6/3/1865
Newspaper: Fond du Lac Commonwealth Weekly Newspaper Date: 6/14/1865 Page Number: N/A

Thelma, I checked this Elizabeth. She is the daughter of Richard's brother William who also travelled to the USA.
It seems that both brothers and their families moved there.
I still have to find the ship for William, wife Hannah and 4 children who moved there.

Any help would be appreciated

I would be pleased if there was any information in the shipping lists for the early 1850s for the above persons.
Fisher Jewson known to be in New York in 1852.
Jarvis Jewson whose family travellied out on the 'Emerald Isle' arriving in New York in November 1854.

Many thanks
