My relative Elsie Tomkins born in Wrexham Denbighshire in 1904,appears to have sailed on the Athenia from Glasgow Scotland,arriving in Quebec 03/05/1931.Can anyone find any further info on her please?

The Canadian Passenger List says Elsie was going to her fiancé Mr George Jones, Danforth Farm, Danforth Lake. Quebec. Father Mr Henry Tomkins, 20 Park Street, Rhoaddu, Wrexham Nr Wales.

Yes I have her in 1911.

Well at least I have the name of the man she was to marry!Who knows someone might see my post and come forward with info!Elsie is one of the very latest additions to my Tree,her father was indeed Henry Tomkins of Rhosddu.

I don't think the earlier departure is my Elsie,Henry's wife was a Jane  Howell

Could be a possibility - area looks about right - There was a George Jones -appeared on Canada Voters List 1957/58 - Gatineau, Québec, Canada - a farmer - Blanch PO (with a Mrs George Jones)

In 1963 Mrs George Jones - Gatineau, Québec, Canada - was a widow - RR 3 Buckingham. Another male Jones also listed with a wife.

Could be coincidence but there was this gentleman who travelled from Wrexham.

There was a George V Jones aged 23 years - born Wrexham - farmer - intended occupation farmer.  Father Mr S Jones, Cefn Bach, Bwlchgwyn Wrexham. (Same spelling as 1911 census) C/O Canadian National Railways, Toronto Ontario.
Arrived 2 June 1929 - Andania - Liverpool to Quebec.

There is a birth of a George Vincent Jones showing - Wrexham - March 1906 - 11b 282
Place of birth given in 1911 was Bwletywyn, Denbighshire, Wales.
He was the son of Samuel Jones and Jane. (Mother-in-law was Elizabeth Munslow)

Son of Edward George Jones and Mary Emily Bostock

Looks more like the first one.
