Index for parish records on FindMyPast
« on: Monday 14 April 14 09:04 BST (UK) »
I recently took out a subscription to FindMyPast, but they seem to have changed the format a lot since i last visited the site. I'm sure there used to be a list of which parish records were available for Wales, and the relevant dates. Is it still there, somewhere ? I don't want to waste time searching for records which aren't there.
Owen , Parry , Pritchard, Foulkes  o Llanddeiniolen
Jones, Bellis o Sir Fflint
Williams o Beaumaris
Chambers o Dulyn
Rowlands o Tywyn

Try looking under Search Records and then Search all records. Next to that I have a box that says Special Collections and in that is The Wales Collection. That has the parish records for different counties.

Or Search Records, A to Z of records and then the county you are looking for eg Anglesey has banns, baptisms, burials and marriages.

Sorry Gadget didn't see your answer.

I used the Welsh records more than any dataset so have them bookmarked!

Thank you very much for your help. Is my memory playing tricks, but was there not a list of what was available for individual parishes as well ? e.g. Llanbidinodyn  Births 1659 -   1875, Marr ....
Owen , Parry , Pritchard, Foulkes  o Llanddeiniolen
Jones, Bellis o Sir Fflint
Williams o Beaumaris
Chambers o Dulyn
Rowlands o Tywyn

Hi

There's this info from the original announcement:

http://blog.findmypast.co.uk/2012/nearly-4-million-new-welsh-records-on-findmypastcouk/

This will take you to a pdf file:  http://dreammail.edgesuite.net/FindMyPast/Welsh-records-coverage.pdf

Added - it may be worth downloading the pdf, just in case they delete it  :-X

Yes, that's the list I remembered. Unfortunately, the records which they purport to show don't seem to be there for at least one parish.e.g. Baptisms in llanddeiniolen seem to stop around 1830.

I'm sure I've seen the records for that parish for much later. At the moment the 1891* census seems to be missing. I'm getting a bit fed up with it  :-\

JenB has also had the same problem so it's not just me.

*PS - it's back now
