McGhee Family - Ireland & Scotland

MCGhee side of the family. Looking for any help at all as to Richard, father as well as any other information anyone has/finds.

Robert McGhee born 1789 in Ireland (not sure where) married Marjory McBride born 1789 had at least one child:

Hugh McGhee born 1808 in Ireland and died 1861 in Paisley - he married Margaret McEtheney (spelling?) they had the following children all born in Ireland, as far as I know;

Jane born 1841 died 1863 in Paisley
Mary born 1844 died 1932 in Paisley married Charles O'Neill
Robert born 1845
William born 1847 married Agnes Quigley (2nd marriage - not sure of first wife)
John born 1849 died 1925 in Paisley married Annie Hughes
Ann born 1852
Michael born 1856 died 1937 in Troon, Scotland married Rose Digney

Would love to know where they came from in Ireland, as well as, any other information.

Do you have any idea of which County they were born in?

According to 1861 census Michael was born in Paisley but I can't find a birth record so this may be an error.

Hi ABLY65, I am new to this sight,and slowly finding my way around. It looks like we are working on the same family, Richard would be my 4th Great Grandfather. All your names and dates you have agree with mine. My line comes though John McGhee that married Annie Hughes. I have a family tree on ancestry and could invite you to see that.Looking forward to hearing from you....fibber

Hi,
    I have just seen your posts my ggg grandfather was Hugh McGhie according to 1841 census he was born in Ireland c 1791.
He married Agnes Fulton in Kirkcolm Wigtownshire .
I am sorry I am not at the moment but I do have his death cert.I will check who his parents where when I get back.

Hi suzilad, I'm not sure we have the same hugh mcghee, as I do not have a agnus fulton in my any of my records, but we maybe related through a different mcghee. please give more info when able.my hugh fits in with what ably65 listed in that post. thanks for replying.   .....fibber

Hi ,
    According to his death cert. Hugh died in Portpatrick Wigtownshire which is in south west Scotland and was at one time the direct link to Northern Ireland .
His father was James McGhie a soldier and his mother was Ann Jackson
