Hipwell/Pratt Marriage
« on: Friday 18 April 14 15:38 BST (UK) »
Hello there!  Is anyone able to look up a marriage for me?

George Hipwell was born around 1800 in Broughton Astley, Leicestershire.
Sarah Pratt was born around 1800 in Shenton, Leicestershire.

They married sometime around the 1830s.

Also - John Richardson (born around 1800) in Shenton.  He married an unknown.  By the 1840s, John Richardson and Sarah Pratt/Hipwell were married, but it says on their wedding certificate that both were widow/widower.

If anyone is able to tell me the exact date/place and names, I'd be very grateful

Thanks in advance,

Neil (in York, England)

Hi - I have just looked on Familysearch and found a John Richardson who married a Mary Fielding in Hinckley (1829)   - Does anyone have access to any burial records for that area of Leicestershire.

If I can find a Mary Richardson burial between 1829 and 1841, I can then assume that this is my ancestor.

Thanks again for anyone helping

Neil

Haven't found a burial for Mary but going back to Sarah and George, banns were read a bit earlier!

Warwickshire, England, Marriages and Banns, 1754-1910
Sarah Pratt of Wolvey
George Hipwell of this parish
Marriage or Bann Date:    4 Oct 1826
Parish:    Newbold on Avon

on the marriage entry he is of Newbold on Avon, witnesses were Mary Pratt and Richard Pratt. All signed by their mark
