Hi, would appreciate help. I have Robert Edwards born 1811-1835 married to Mary Thurgood born 1812, married 5th Nov 1834. Am unable to find any information on the parents of the above especially Robert Edwards.

 I have found the marriage in Terling Essex but have you found them on any Census
if so where and when?

What is the place of birth for Mary etc ?

Hi Spendlove, the following information was researched for me- Robert Edwards born 28th Oct and Baptised 15th Dec 1811. Died Oct and buried 4th Oct 1835 so unfortunately didn't make the 1841 census. Mary Thurgood Baptised 30th Jul 1815 ( I think) and remarried Joseph Reed 1837. All Terling. Just cant get anything on Roberts Parents.

The birth you quote for a Robert Edwards 28.10.1811, can be seen on:-

this Christening shows the parents as William Edwards & Eliz.

There are Chistenings for other children to this couple:-

Sophia 4.7.1802
Mary   22.9.1805
Elinor 21..5.1815
Reuben 10.7.1808

However I cannot find a marriage for William Edwards & Eliz in Terling.

Sorry I missed one of the Children born to William & Eliz Edwards.

This was a William Edwards Christened 27.1.1799.

There is a possible birth of a William Edwards who married Eliz:-

William Edwards Christened Terling 14.2.1779 son of William Edwards & Margt.

Hi not sure if this is your William but in the 1841 Census he is living next door to Reuben Edwards.

On ancestry the surname has been transcribed incorrectly as Edward, have submitted a correction.

Remember that in the 1841 Census only ages of adults were rounded down by up to 4 years
so aged 75 could be aged 75 - 79.  Aged 15 could be aged 15 - 19.  Children aged 14 and under
exact ages given.
