H,
Can anybody help in finding this person in 1841 and/or any evidence of his birth/baptism.
His name is:
Joseph Bolton and he was born in Whitstable around 1825.
I can only find him once - on the 1851 census - by which time he has married (possibly to an Elizabeth Boxer during the March quarter of 1845).
On this census Joseph's date of birth is given as 1825 and place of birth is Whitstable.
His wife, Elizabeth, is listed as being 32 years (6 years older than him), and they have two children, Joseph, aged 6 years and Rose Ann, aged one year.
The family are living within the parish of Seasalter and Joseph is a general labourer.
He may have died during the December quarter of 1858 (Canterbury RD), as Elizabeth is listed as a widow by the 1861 census, and was living in Whitstable.
Her year of birth is given as 1820, and as well as Rose Ann, she now also has two younger children; John aged 9 years, and Henry, aged 6 years.
There is also an elder daughter, Eliza, (who was missing from the 1851 census), aged 14 years.
Eliza's baptism may have taken place in Seasalter on the 5th September 1847 - only her mother is named on the baptism online record and his recorded as Elizabeth Boxer or Bolton.
But who was Joseph? As he only appears with any certainty in 1851 census information on him is scarce and I can't find any trace of him prior to this.
Any help would be appreciated
Sue
