A relation of my husband is Loretta Small and she married a Padraic Cantwell of Galway.
There may be some connection.

That is very odd, Tara - I've literally just this minute managed to connect with Loretta on FB. Such a lot of coincidences x

Hi
I know it's a bit late but I've just seen my grandfathers name mentioned in a post from April 2014. William Mulvoy. Did anyone want to know anything about him?

Hi there, sitting here at Easter weekend in hotel with my mother Bridie Cantwell who was reminiscing about my uncle Nicholas and I decided to google him online and turned up this excellent thread. My mother was 9 when he died but has a good bit of background to how Nicky came to join the raf and also memories from when the news was brought home to the family. Sadly due to the circumstances of ww2 and security Nicholas’s body couldn’t be repatriated to Ireland - so his mother Bridget “mud” and his father Thomas (my grandparents) had to wait several years before they could visit his grave and mourn properly. My mother has photos of the burial taking place as well as the graveyard at Benson. Happy to share if they are of interest. Regards Frank Dunne - Dublin Ireland.

Hello Frank - we are cousins. I'm Barney's eldest daughter, Bernice. So good to hear that Bridie is still with us and I'd love to hear more about what she remembers. I'll send you a message on here if I can remember how to...
I'm so glad Mud and Thomas visited the grave. For some reason I assumed they hadn't. It would be great to reconcile what Bridie remembers with the snippets my Dad told me.
