Marriage certificate

Hi could anybody please look up the certificate in either Huyton or Prescot as I'm not sure where they will be kept of a Hannah Chorley and Alan Lewis married in December quarter 1939 i need the mother and fathers last names to carry on with my family history on my Dads side thank you.

We can't lookup certs. as they aren't online. What you need to do is order it from the GRO.
Only father's names are included.

Lancashire BMD lists the marriage as taking place at Prescot St Mary's. Unfortunately the transcriptions of the registers for this church available on line from Lancashire OPC only go up to 1900.
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott

You say you are looking for last names of mothers and fathers? Surely these would be Lewis and Chorley?  Freebmd has 3 children registered in Prescot district in 1940, 1943 and 1944 with surname Lewis and mother's maiden name Chorley. As they are still possibly living I won't give further details. This would indicate that Hannah's maiden surname was Chorley, (as opposed to Chorley being the surname of a previous husband). If you knew the ages of Hannah and Alan, you could probably find their birth registrations, although Alan Lewis is quite a common name.

If Hannah was about 19 when married there's a likely birth reg in Prescot district for a Hannah Chorley in 1920, mother's maiden name Welsby. Several siblings. Marriage in 1916 for Thomas Chorley and Mary Welsby again Prescot district. All on FreeBMD

Thank you everyone got it on good authority that my nans mums maidens name is welsby both Hannah and Alan have passed.
