I'm having a lot of difficulty on tying a family together in the early 1800s.
On the parents marriage record in 1813, if indeed it is the right one, the husband is said to be a Carpenter.
On the baptism record of 2 possible children, in 1814 and 1817, he is said to be a Cartwright.
I know this sounds a silly question but would a Carpenter and Cartwright be different professions?
I know they both involve wood but in my brain they are different professions and yet these children seem the most likely.
As usual there are more than one family in the village with the same name at the same time and this is rather a difficult one to untangle, so I would appreciate information about these professions.
