« on: Wednesday 07 May 14 15:02 BST (UK) »
I am tidying up some ancestors siblings ???
Sarah was born in Rushden Northamptonshire in 1853 can't find her baptism date  ( parents Owen and Elizabeth Sykes  nee Harris) Sarah married George Keaber

Name:    Sarah Sykes
Event Type:    Marriage
Registration Quarter:    Oct-Nov-Dec
Registration Year:    1874
Registration District:    Northampton
County:    Northamptonshire
Event Place:    Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
Volume:    3B Page:    155 Line Number:    326
Name:    Fanny Benson
Name:    George Keeber
Name:    James Kilborn

I have found Sarah on all the census. Clearly there are Keaber's in Pitsford, Northamptonshire where it says on the 1881 he was born, but no information about George or on other census prior to 1881 and it looks like he died 4Q 1887 39yrs Wellingbro' 3b 99

Thanks JeannieR

Yes it seems very likely everything fits birth year, place, just spelling variant and John and Esther were baptising children in Pitsford at that time,  just not found his baptism as yet

Hello Again....

On the 1861 census, The surname is mis-transcribed as KUBER

John and Esther are described as his grandparents. I suspect Mary age 28 in 1851, could be his mother.

Baptism 24th June 1855 at Pitsford. Mother , Mary

Thank you , yes I think it is the spelling variants which are not helping and thank you for the baptism date.
Looks like I need to investigate Bastardy records and see if I can find out anything more ... silly really he is not even my ancestor but I still like to know however my ancestors were all very straightforward born, baptised within marriage, it is the siblings and their families who are so interesting with several marriage, crimes and single parents, my excuse it is gives me the opportunity to research and learn about different records, or maybe it is just me being nosey ::) A form of researched net curtain twitching ;D

There seems to be another George baptised in Pitsford.

26 Sep 1852 with parents Thomas and Mary Ann Keeber

Of course he may die.

Hi Sandy

Yes I have since done some searching and come to that conclusion, Thomas was John's sibling,( parents John and Alice who m 1790) so I think the two census shows two different George's, one being Mary's son born/baptised in 1855 and the other George is Thomas and Mary Ann's son born/bap 1852.

Hopefully someone has access the the PRs to look and see if fathers name is on.

Thanks

From what I can see Thomas and Mary Ann Keeber's son, George died aged 6 years old in 1858. Which possibly means the George who married Sarah Sykes is Mary's child as I can't find any others born around that time to be approx age, so likely no fathers name on their marriage.

I can't find Sarah's husband after 1881 census and looks like he died in 1887 I know Sarah was a widow in 1911 census

George( b 1829) and Charlotte had a son John George b 1857 and Charles and Jane had a George in 1868
