Ricketts in Dorset
« on: Wednesday 07 May 14 21:15 BST (UK) »
I have read on another posting that my late father Richard Charles Ricketts 1934 - 1986 may possibly have a living sister.  However he had quite a few siblings...Margaret/Barbara/Mary/Robert/Ethel/Marjorie and I can't find records to find who the living sister may be. They originate from the Bournemouth area, Dorset.  My grand parents were Frank Robert Ricketts/Florence May Tuck.  If anyone has any information about any of this family it would be appreciated.

Was your father the youngest? If so the children that you've named are the only Ricketts children that show on Freebmd with mother's name Tuck. All Christchurch or Bournemouth. Do you know for sure that they have all died?

It may be that because of the date of birth the poster thought that the person may still be alive. Unless we can find a definite death we have to presume that, as we are not allowed to name living people on.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, you have the correct family.  This is the message I got the info from, unfortunately the member doesn't seem to be using their account anymore.  "HI my name is Tim i have just read this post as i am new to the site, Frank Ricketts and Florence May Ricketts were my Grandparents.  My Mother is (age removed, living person) years old and the last of the children alive My grandfather passed away in 1960 i believe in corfe mullen in Wimbourne they lived in a cottage on broggs farm and grandma passed maybe some 6 years later in Kinson in Bournemouth I have a Brother MIKE and a Sister Louise they still live in the uk i live in Virginia wouldbe interested to know who your wife is and where you are from  Tim"

I can't find marriage/death certificates of sisters to figure out who might be the living one.

I'll see if I can eliminate any. It could be of course that his mother lives in America with him.

Thank you very much to Groom for all the information.  I'm currently researching all the leads you've found.  If anyone knows anything about any of my relatives in the above post then please contact me.  I know very little about my family and it would be lovely to learn more.
