Wyoming Death certificate
« on: Thursday 08 May 14 11:46 BST (UK) »
Trying to find what information would be on a death cert from Wyoming - person died between 1920 and 1930 possibly in Laramie Albany County.
Would welcome any help.
Thanks

Here's one from 1932 - http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~lemirefh/Blair/Source_-_Death_Certificate_-_1932_-_Alexander_McDonald_Blair.jpg  I suspect a slightly earlier one would be similar, if not the same.

There's an obituary index from Albany Co. that may help you narrow the date down a little more:  http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wyalbany/obits/?cj=1&netid=cj&o_xid=0000584978&o_lid=0000584978&o_sch=Affiliate+External

Also, city directories may narrow the time frame down or give a date of death.

Many thanks for information. Have found him in the 1920 census and his wife is a widow on the 1930 census but have not found any information from directories that would give clues re exact date of death.
His death is not showing in the index.
Thanks again.

Looks like there is an index at the Wyoming State Archives:
http://wyoarchives.state.wy.us/Archives/VitalRecords.aspx

http://wyoarchives.state.wy.us/Archives/Inventories.aspx
 - also online for surnames A to E only. Says "in progress".  Hope you're not looking for anybody with surname starting Z.
Their newspaper project may also be of interest to you.

Thanks very much for that- the surname is McCullagh so will have to wait for the death index - but got some items in the Newspaper project.
Thanks again
