Confirmation of Marriage please

I would like confirmation of a marriage, if any one is visiting the records office for Portsmouth Please.
I would like to know the father's name for Jane Maria STAMMERS who married Robert MORGAN in the April q of 1909. She was born in Alpheton, Suffolk in 1873.

 In 1911 they were in the Portsea & Landport sub district of Portsmouth. Roberts occupation then was a shipwright for the government.

The actual date of marriage would be good too.

Have you looked for her on 1881 census, which is free to search?  That should give the names of her parents.

parents Walter and Maria, and numerous siblings.  Still in Alpheton

Thank you all, 1881 census was the only time I found her with her parents. No sign in 1891 or 1901.
I found a marriage of Jane Maria Stammers of Alpheton to Robert Morgan 1909 on Find my past. Rather than assume I had the right Jane a glimpse of the marriage entry could confirm her father name.

Unfortunately it does not state the Church just volume & page 2B 984. I presume there are a lot of Churches in the Portsea / Landport area.
Don't want to order a certificate as this is my friends family not my own,

If your friend wants to be sure you are on the right track, then getting the cert would be the way to go.  Then he/she would know if the Jane marrying Robert Morgan was the same one as the one with father,Walter.

The Registration district shown in the indexes will cover marriages not not only at all parish churches in the area, but also non conformist or registry offices.

Yes Rosie99, oh & Thanks lizdb. With this sort of check re my Suffolk ancesters a quick visit to Bury R O find the marriage & confirmation done, was hoping for the same with this one, hey ho never mind. Will have to ask how far friend wants to pursue this   Coppernob x
