Norfolk Constabulary service records

Hi all
Is it possible to find service recorde for members of the Norfolk Constabulary ( and other forces in the 1800's) as it is for the Met police. I have tried a few constabulary websites but they don't have much info on archive material. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Mick,

I would think it unlikley to find sources on the web and I think that the Met one is a one off.

Would suggest writing to the force concerned some have museums and records may still exist.

Over the years many forces have amalgamated .

Hi there,

It is also possible that the main library in the area,  or the local Records Office will have them,  you can usually find out online what they hold,  even if you cannot see the records.  A2a is in the process of cataloging all the archived records in England,  it could be worth looking on their database.

thanks for that. I on my hols in the next few days and just happen to be going to Norfolk so will be spending a day in the records office in Norwich.
