"Notes and Queries"
« on: Friday 16 May 14 13:41 BST (UK) »
I have a reference to "Notes and Queries" Series 2, Vol VIII, p 170.  There seem to be more than one "Notes and Queries" and I am trying to identify which it is.  Can anyone help?  The query referred to a probable move from Lancashire to Lincolnshire of a Winkley family, possibly in the 16th century.  They eventually ended up in Middlesex (18th c).

Thanks

I may be able to look it up in hard copy for you this afternoon - will let you know.

Links to all the Notes and Queries can be found here (access is free as this one links to open library.org):

I just had a look at your book and the entry and confirmed there is a story about the Winkley family.

Thanks guys.  I had a look at the wikisource site and found the entry - after a bit of searching.  Type in page 170 and it takes you to page 136!  Still, as I say, found it.  Cheers.
