GLASS family in Aldbourne Wilts.

I am trying to confirm a couple of connections to my Grt Grt Grandfather Alfred Glass who was born in Aldbourne in 1832. I would like to confirm his marriage (Mary Ann Pyle?) and also the connection to a Thomas Glass who moved to Berkshire with him in the 1850's (brother?). Anybody with info on the Glass family in and around Aldbourne, I would love to hear from you.

    Thanks for you input and reply. I think you are right and that Philip is the father of Alfred and Thomas probably was his brother, however I have some concerns. I have a family tree from someone on Ancestry.co.uk which states that Thomas moved to the USA in around 1860, I think they have this is wrong however I would like to confirm. I also have a marriage certificate for Alfred and Mary Ann (Pyle?) in 1854 (Marlborough) which gives his father as William Glass. I would like to confirm either the certificate is the correct Alfred Glass and understand who William is because Philip was still alive at the time.

Hi,
I have a lot of ancestors in Aldbourne, mainly BUNCE, BROWN, PIERCE/PEARCE, KIMBER and PIKE/PYKE. 

I was wondering, if there is an uncertainty about Mary Ann's surname, whether it could in fact be PYKE rather than PYLE?  There seem to have been quite a few PYKE/PIKEs in the Aldbourne area during the 1700's to 1800's.

Service No 5732 Wilts Regt 5th Bn K.i.a. 27-2-17.
Cross referenced against "Tell Them of Us" 1996  by Mark Sutton.
The following:-  Adelaide Daisy GLASS  1 Church Road Swindon,possibly his wife and abode??.
Because the GWR employed men from the Villages over a wide area.
The proof is written in "Life in a Railway Factory" 1915 By ALFRED WILLIAMS 1877-1930.
