I can't find any Ewingtons in Hatfield 1851 I'm afraid.  There are two Ewington families in Digswell  - Caleb aged 44, a sawyer b.in Codicote and Joseph 60, widower, ag.lab, b.Tewin.
If you'dlike details of these I can send them.   I also checked Ayott St.Peter and St.Lawrence and part of North Mimms - no luck.  In my own line I have an Elizabeth Ewington in Wormley but there is no Samuel there either.

Thanks forest. Maybe the Ewingtons were 'away'?! I have heard of Caleb before, but I don't know of his connection. Sounds likely to be a cousin. I appreciate you checking. Good luck with Elizabeth.

My g-g-parents were Caleb Ewington and Ann Allison of Welwyn Herts they were married on  11-11-1826 and they had 10 children.   Their 2nd child was Maria born 2-3-1828  married James Biggs born 1825.  Maria and James set out for Australia on October 5th - 1852 on board the ship Duke of Richmond arriving in Australia in March 4th - 1854.

Would like any info on Caleb Ewington and Ann Allison.

You mentioned Caleb Ewington age 44 a sawyer, born Codicote.
Could you please send me details of Caleb Ewington, as he fits the dates of my Caleb mentioned.

Thanks
Glen

Yes they are there in 8 Park Street, Hatfield.  There is a spelling error and the surname looks something like Huenten.

Hi all. My g g g grandparents were Caleb and Ann. Their son James mention as their son married Ann Harriet Green and came to New Zealand in 1874 on the ship Wennington. They settled in masterton. They also had a son called Caleb, plus some other children. I have details from Caleb and Ann Allison down to my son who is 6 but would love to be able to trace back from them.

Blaire I have Wennington passenger list and your family are noted. Your tree on Ancestry says Caleb born NZ but he is on passenger list aged 2.
The Caleb from Codicte Herts is born 1807 and dies aged 72.

Cannot see his birth on Familysearch so would imagine it is mistranscribed.

I am seeing if I can link yours with my Ewingtons in Herts which go back to William Ewington 1748 in Codicote
