I'm trying to trace her roots.

She died in New Zealand: NZ BDM record: 1914/26013 Faulkner Annie Beatrice Helena Marie 73Y

This puts her birth date 1868

She married Thomas Faulkner in Croydon, Surrey 1887 Beatrice Helena M Tanizer

1991 census they are living in Croydon with 2 children, name Annie, birthplace is Musbury, Devon. abt 1869

I can't find her birth or any trace of that surname.
I've tried all sorts of variations but drawn a blank.
Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Do you have a copy of the marriage cert?  Does it give a fathers name/occupation

The surname Tanzier/Taenzer /Tanzer is from Bohemia in the Austro Hungarian empire.
There are several of the family passing through London
Ferdinand Max born 1868 chandler  s of Ferdinand farmer married Emma Lehmann 12.3.1893 Finsbury.
The couple seem to go to the US.
William born 1860 Hotel keeper s of Gustav shoemaker marrying Georgina Dorta 23.4.1890 Twickenham.
Your best bet is to buy the certificate and get as many details as possible.

Her death cert states her father Alexander Tanizer and mother Mary Larcombe.
Her marriage cert has her father Alexander Tanizer, Colonel in the French Army.
Marriage 22 Jan 1887, Croydon.
Her address at time of marriage is 6 Haling Rd, Croydon, father deceased.
I still haven't managed to track this any further, but if anyone else can it would be greatly appreciated!!
