« on: Monday 30 June 14 16:19 BST (UK) »
Can anyone find Hephzibah's parents?

According to the census after she got married she was born about 1815 in Grantham.

She married William Bowen in Liverpool in 1835

Thanks

According to familysearch a John Waite with wife Hephzibah was baptising children in Grantham around that period. Maybe worth looking more closely at them. However there are several other Waite couples producing offspring in the same area at the same time.
Crackett, Cracket, Webb, Turner, Henderson, Murray, Carr, Stavers, Thornton, Oliver, Davis, Hall, Anderson, Atknin, Austin, Bainbridge, Beach, Bullman, Charlton, Chator, Corbett, Corsall, Coxon, Davis, Dinnin, Dow, Farside, Fitton, Garden, Geddes, Gowans, Harmsworth, Hedderweek, Heron, Hedley, Hunter, Ironside, Jameson, Johnson, Laidler, Leck, Mason, Miller, Milne, Nesbitt, Newton, Parkinson, Piery, Prudow, Reay, Reed, Read, Reid, Robinson, Ruddiman, Smith, Tait, Thompson, Watson, Wilson, Youn

Just in case that does turn out to be her parents, there is a piece in the Stamford Mercury 12 June 1835 about Hephzibah Waite, (Widow of the late John Waite, proprietor and driver of the Diligence , Coach from Grantham to Leicester,)  She thanks people for their support given to her late husband for 20 years and wants to tell them that she has sold the concern to Mr George Harston who she highly recommends.

Hi Ruth,

There are a few Waite  burials in St Wulframs parish churchyard in Grantham that might be of interest to you including Hephzibah.
Hannah died 20 Jul 1837 aged 80
Hephzibah died 21 Jun 1845 aged 59
James died infant.
John died 22 Nov 1822 aged 65
John died 7 May 1835 aged 51
Sarah died 13 Feb 1812 aged 29

This information with other details can be found if you go to www.interment.net and search for England then Lincolnshire then St Wulframs and then go to the surname you are interested in.

Hope this helps

Kathy

On FreeReg site there is a marriage of John Waite (a widower)abode Grantham to a Hephzibah Lambert Patrick (spinster)abode South Witham at St John the Baptist Church South Witham on the 2/Sep/1812.Witnesses Elizabeth Wing & William Taylor.
These appear to be their children all baptised at St Wulframs Church Grantham.
Elizabeth 12/Oct/1813
Sarah 8/Jan/1816
John Patrick 29/Dec/1817
James 8/Aug/1819
Mary 3/Aug/19821
John Waites occupation was given at all baptisms as a Inn Holder.

There was no mention of a Hephzibah born c1815 I suppose she could have been missed off the baptisms :-\ :-\ :-\.unless someone else can find her
