Have you ever dreamed of spending the night in the Central Auckland research library?

Research your family history or whakapapa with help from our specialist research librarians and volunteers from the New Zealand Society of Genealogists at the 10th annual Karen Kalopulu family history lock-in!

About the lock-in

The annual family history lock-in is a unique 12-hour overnight research session founded by Karen Kalopulu, our family history librarian who passed away suddenly in 2009 after being with us for 30 years. The 2014 lock-in marks 10 years since the first lock-in was run by Karen.

Run in partnership with the New Zealand Society of Genealogists, the lock-in offers participants the chance to:

Camp out and enjoy a night of unlimited research at the Auckland Central Research Centre - who knows what you'll find?

Discuss your research with other family history researchers and experts in a friendly atmosphere.

Snacks and beverages will be provided throughout the night, with pizza served at midnight.
