DOVEY Portsea
« on: Friday 04 July 14 12:45 BST (UK) »
Louisa Ann DOVEY Baptised 11 Feb 1810 Portsea Hampshire, Daughter of Clement and Louisa DOVEY. I know the family relocated to (Marylebone) St.Pancras London.  Attached to Louisa I have the St Pancras 1841 census where in the house are:  George DOVEY 20 Henry DOVEY 15 Clement DOVEY 25 Louisa DOVEY 30 Jane DOVEY 30. I realise these are only approx ages due to the census, but Clement and Louisa did not have children called George or Henry and Jane would or should have been marked as 25 not 30.  Due to this I am wondering if I have the correct household.  For info Clement and Louisa's children were and in brackets ages at 1841 census : Louisa Ann 1810 (31), William Wellington c1812 (29), Clement John 1814 (27), Jane Elizabeth 1817 (24), Caroline 1824 (17), John William 1831 (10), Eliza Elizabeth 1834 (7), Edwin Arthur [Thomas Edwin] 1839 (2).  There was also it seems another child Sarah Ann 1831, but she took her mothers maiden name of KNIGHT. Clement and Louisa are listed in the 1841 census at St.Pancras but only with Caroline 1824 (17), John William 1831 (10), Eliza Elizabeth 1834 (7), Edwin Arthur [Thomas Edwin] 1839 (2).  any ideas anyone...

As relationships are not given on 1841, I would be cautious about drawing too many conclusions from that census alone.

I see in 1851 Clement junior is married to a Jane, so the Jane in 1841 may be his wife not his sister, for example.
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

So if Jane and Clement are married and Louisa is possibly Clement's sister, where to George and Henry come in, they can't be his children and they are not brothers ?
Can they be found on the 1851 census ? are Clement jnr and Jane with anyone else on 1851 census ?

In 1851 my  Clement b (1791) was a Shoe maker so this may be another family and I have completely lost the plot now....  Didn't think there where that many Clement DOVEY's   ;D
