Is this your relative? Liberation of Rome 1944 English soldiers

My Dad was in the 8th Army at El Alamein then Monte Cassino before finally reaching Rome in 1944. I have 2 photos of him with the same man who was clearly a good friend. I wondered if he is the relative of someone out there who may like the pictures. Dad didn't write his name on the pictures
My Dad was Adam Alan Thornton born 08.01.1922.
Hope someone out there finds their dad on my picture.
