Welcome to Rootschat.

Can you give us some dates please? People will probably be able to find information from censuses and help you get back further, but you will be very lucky if you manage to get a photo. Have you tried asking around your family in case any of them have one tucked away?

Welcome to rootschat ;D

We would all love photos of our ancestors and the best way to find any is to speak to all your relations and ask if you can see their old photo albums, that is where you are most likely to find any.

Also once you begin to research and start looking at researching siblings of your direct line ancestors and find other researchers who are researching them too you can always ask if they have any old photos they are prepared to share.
No one in my family had any photos of my great grandparents and I was researching for many years before I was contacted by a descendant of my Grandfathers brother who had migrated to the other side of the world. They asked if I could identify anyone in the photo he had and sent it to me, I knew immediately who they were, my grandfather aged about 8 yrs old, all his siblings and his parents, my great grandparents, my mum confirmed that, so I do now have a photo of them

As iluleah said the best chance of finding any photographs is to either ask family or make contact with distant family members. If you have access to Ancestry, either as a subscription or through your library, you may be lucky enough to find some one with John and Jane on their tree. I had no photographs of my father's maternal grandparents, but was contacted by a second cousin who saw my tree online. Not only did she have a photo of my great grandfather, but also some of my grandmother's brothers and one of my father as a child.

Good luck.
