Walter J Steele missing from 1911 census
« on: Tuesday 22 July 14 13:20 BST (UK) »
Hello

Walter James Steele was born in 1880 to John and Hannah Steele. He is present on all censuses up till 1901, where is he on the 1911 census? he would have been married to either Catherine Fitzpatrick or Mary Agnes Feeney

thanks

Have you ruled out the one living in Sheffield and spelt as Steel?

You haven't given any details of his birthplace - presume Cumberland as you have posted on that board - the Sheffield entry matches to a Cumberland birthplace

I think thats him since his father was John Steel, did he stay in America or did he return to England since there is a Walter J Steele dying in 1937 in Cockermouth
