Hi, I am trying to find any information on my grt grandfather. His son James ? "my grandfather" was born in Nairn, Nairnshire.

Sorry Craclyn, I am a newbie to all this and do not know much. Unfortunately I only know my grandfathers place of birth (Nairn, Nairnshire) Parents names unknown plus I do not know if he had any siblings.
He married Alexina Gray, born 1897, Corskellie, Lonmay. They both died in Invergordon. Alexina 1960, James date unkown. My father James Victor Evan Mackie was born, 1925 Invergordon Ross Shire. (deceased)  :(

Have you tried the website www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk ?
It is a paysite where you have to buy credits to look at images of records, but you will find that the information is very useful. If you start with the marriage record for your grandparents then it should give you more information about their parents and you can work back from there.
