Here is one of my ancestors that died in WWI...
Frank Stokes was born on 29th March 1884 in Christleton, Cheshire, England to Henry and Mary Ann Stokes. Frank was one of 12 children born to Henry and Mary Ann and he was the youngest son. Frank joined the military before WWI: he is listed on the 1911 Census as residing in the 'Military'. Frank was then presumably put straight into the army to fight in WWI with the King's Liverpool Regiment, 1st Battalion. He died on 10th March 1915 in Givenchy, France. He is listed on: the memorial at his local church in Bruera, Cheshire; the memorial in Saighton, Cheshire (the town that he lived in); and on his parents' headstone in the Bruera Churchyard.
